  1. They were the actual adhesive labels. Printers that can print on the static cling are a lot more expensive. I was able to place my logo on the sticker along with mileage and type of oil and our shop slogan. I actually changed my logo on these stickers a few weeks ago to a QR code linking to my web page to make an appointment that way when someone looks at the sticker and realized they need service they can just click the code and make an appointment.
  2. I started my using a Brother QL-570 that I purchased off Amazon for less than $100. The printer came with the software to design and print a very nice oil change label as well as since it uses a 2" sticker label you could use it for about anything. My only complaint is the label is hard to remove from the windshield. I recently changed to a Dymo printer because the Lube Sticker Program that Mitchel1 is now using only supports this and one other printer.
  3. My information is listed on their site as a free option but I don't pay for anything that they offer. Just another place for people to find out about my business.
  4. Depends upon what you want to do with the oil change stickers. Do you want paper label type oil change stickers or do you want vinyl static cling oil change stickers?
  5. My pennzoil/shell rep was telling me about this a few months ago. Great idea.
  6. Id ask him if he wants to pay for the cleanup guy out of his own pocket....
  7. I use http://www.certifiedautorepaircenters.com/CertAutoRepair/ I have this through my local Oreilly's store but the warranty is supposed to cover the repairs no matter where I get the parts. Oreilly isn't the one offering the warrranty. Certified actually just added a 24/24 warranty that I am a part of.
  8. I have a wonderful woman that has been my secretary for 1-1/2 yrs. She is excellent on the phone and good with customers but I am in desperate need of a service writer. I can't afford to pay them both. She has been out for about 2 weeks after a surgery and I had a great service writer friend help me out while she was gone. It was very nice to not have to do any estimating and not to have to answer and return phone calls. How do you experienced guys handle this? I would have to pay the service writer more than the secretary but the writer would be able to take more of the load from me. Any input?
  9. I can barely afford health insurance for my own family. I can't afford to offer it to my employees yet....
  10. CAR Maintenance and Performance White House, TN We are a general repair shop that is branching out into the diesel truck market. That market is huge around here and no one else in our area even works on Diesels. My tech also drives a cummins that we enjoy working on so that has stoked the interest for us. Would love to talk with someone in the market to get help. Include me in Craig
  11. Told my wife this morning. Two things will happen. 1) I will do everything I can do get myself out of debt in the next year. This is both personal debt and business debt. Business will not continue unless there is no debt. 2) I will be stocking up on a few more guns and bullets to go with it
  12. I use their transmission fluid to start with since its much cheaper for the synthetic fluid. They will let you use the machines for free if you are purchasing the fluids from them (at least my rep will let me) Waiting on my brake fluid machine now.
  13. My shop is growing and expanding and I am in need of a service writer/shop manager. How do you guys pay them? I have a great service writer already lined up if we can come to some kind of agreement.
  14. Thank you for the reminder. My wife and I vote every time we have elections and our children go with us. We are instilling in them the importance of this special right that we enjoy.
  15. How much alcohol was involved in that stupid stunt.
  16. Praying for you and your family. My mom and dad live upstate and my sister and brother-in-law live near Binghamton, NY so I will be watching this storm closely as well. Here in middle TN all we are getting is the strong wind and the cold (it dropped from the 70's last week to the 40's this week.
  17. I am strongly considering it. I have mobile phone aps already through the Demandforce that I use but will be looking for a few other options.
  18. What kind of requirements do you have to do to obtain that qualification?
  19. Good to have you here. Don't be a stranger when it comes to posting.
  20. I have the same issue just reversed. I have a long time friend who is an excellent transmission builder but very slow when it comes to normal diagnostic or work. He is looking for a job closer to his home but I don't think that he would be a good fit. I feel your pain
  21. We did this as regular maintenance when I worked for a Honda dealership. Don't do much promotion of that in my shop. Probably should. Its not a hard service to perform.
  22. Would be interested but their website doesnt' work on Firefox so I can't view much. Had to switch to IE. Not impressive
  23. I had that experience working for the dealership. Not that they intensionally cut our hours but there just wasn't the work. Do they think that people will continue to work there for less money?
  24. Not a big fan myself but I will watch either the Yankees or the Cardinals.
  25. I raised mine this summer from 74.97 to 78.97. I may end up having to raise it again by the end of the year. Overhead went up a lot this month.
