  1. I saw this company in my Mitchell1 information and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them? Elite
  2. Joe, not that this will help but in all my years at Honda, I only saw one Odyssey with a blown head gasket and that was due to a head bolt that had broken off....
  3. Joe, That is the way the dealership that I worked at was and that is the main reason that I left. When the work was there, the required 45 hr week wasn't bad when you were turning 50-75 hrs a week. I turned as many as 130 hrs one week (in six days) and set the shop record for the most hours turned in one week. That was a great plan when there was work but like you said, if there wasn't any work, there was no base pay so it wasn't uncommon to turn 30-40 and still have to be there the full week and a sat every 3 weeks. I always wondered how "legal" it was to require us to work hours that we were not paid for. Since I am the only tech here now I pay myself flat rate because its the easiest for me to figure for now. When I get big enough to need more help, I will have to change that.
  4. well so far impressed with the service. They got my connector and tested it and was amazed that I was correct. It was not working and it had their engineering department stumped. That made me feel better that I wasn't the one that was crazy. They made me a new connector and tested it before they shipped it to make sure that it was working. I will give more info as I get the chance to test the new one.

  6. This is a good but "depressing" article. http://scragged.com/articles/the-business-of-america-is-government.aspx
  7. You can buy the generic tool for around $220 but it won't have any of the advanced "enhanced" features as they call them. If you look on AutoEnginuity's site it will explain the different options that they offer. I decided to buy it straight from them instead of from someone on ebay and since mine has had problems I am glad I bought it straight from them. My machine works well for domestic applications but for some reason I have not been able to make it work on any Asian cars at all. I have been dealing with them for about a month now and finally sent my adapter back to them because I was doing everything right. They figure I have a hardware problem. I will let you know more when I get it working properly.
  8. I personally charge the same amount whether I use shims or not. I also charge the same amount if I am doing a 2 wheel or a 4 wheel alignment. 95% of the alignments "set the toe and let it go" so for the few that require a little more work, I just "eat" My alignment machine has made me a lot of money for what I invested in the Hunter machine. I have less than $200 in my machine
  9. Welcome to the site. Good to have you here. I look forward to getting to learn from you.
  10. Welcome to the site. Good to have you here. I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say and hopefully, have something to offer to you. I don't do any advertising at all myself. I have tried and it was a waste of money for me. All my business is direct referral. Of course, its only me and an afternoon helper so I can't take any more work than what I have.
  11. You were gone? Oh, by the way, YOU SUCK. At least its about 60 degrees here today so its getting warmer. J/K. Glad you had a great time. Its always good to get away! Looking forward to our trip to Gatlinburg, TN in August. We go there about once a year since we only live about 4 hrs from there and my Father-in-law has time share's there which pay for our housing.
  12. Welcome to the site from another TN auto shop owner Good to have you here. Look forward to learning from you and hopefully be able to help you.
  13. I would be glad to state the conspiracy theory here. Let's see. Both Nissan and Toyota are in direct competition with the US government that now owns Government Motors. The government is bashing their own competition which is very hypocritical in my opinion. Did we hear the big news the GM is having a recall on over 1 million of their cars. Have we heard the same overkill? CNN doesn't even have this story on their website... MSNBC does as does Fox News but why can't I find it on the Communist News Network? GM Recall: Chevrolet Cobalt & Pontiac G5, Pursuit, G4 – Power Steering Failure
  14. Good to have you here. Look forward to getting to learn from you and hopefully to be able to help you.
  15. I average about 10-12 between my two bay garage. One side is the lift and the other side is my alignment machine. Of course, its just me so I am doing everything from answering the phone to talking to customers plus running for parts and everything else so I am very happy with that amount. Keeps my bills paid for now.
  16. Heck no. I hope it snows down there. LOL. Make sure you take the cold with you because we are freezing here in TN. Have a wonderful time and enjoy your time.
  17. Thanks for pointing that out. The link is wrong. The contact us page is correct but the map and directions link is wrong.
  18. That's what I wanted to know. My wife and I have talked about something like this for a while. What kind of price do you do?
  19. Thank you very much for the info It was just loaded up yesterday so I am still working out the bugs but I will make sure to do a few of those changes.
  20. I recently got my website redesigned. What do you guys think? Its a work in progress but this is main idea. www.CARMandP.com
  21. I like that sheet. Do you mind if I borrow that design?
  22. I"m with Joe. I love my Mitchell program. It makes life so much easier to keep track of everything. I don't have a cash drawer since I don't have the space for it and almost never get cash. Its either check or credit card.
  23. Welcome to this site. Look forward to getting to see and hear your input.
  24. Very cool They are both pre expansion
  25. The only time I have been to Cleveland was to visit a friend at Lee University. That has been more than 10 yrs ago but that campus was very nice. I saw a program put on my the drama team that was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
