  2. OLD TIMER'S HOSPITAL STAY Jim was an old man. He was sick and in the hospital. There was one nurse that just drove him crazy. Every time she came in, she would talk to him like he was a little child. She would say in a patronizing tone of voice, 'And how are we doing this morning', Or 'Are we ready for a bath', or 'Are we hungry?' Old Jim had had enough of this particular nurse. One day, at breakfast, Old Jim took the apple juice off the tray and put it in his bed side stand. Next, he was given a urine bottle to fill for testing. So you know where the juice went ! The nurse came in a little later, picked up the urine bottle and looked at it. 'My, it seems we are a little cloudy today. ' At this, Old Jim snatched the bottle out of her hand, popped off the top, and drank it down, saying, 'Well, I'll run it through again. Maybe I can filter it better this time.' The nurse fainted. Old Jim just smiled. DON'T MESS WITH 'OLD' PEOPLE.
  3. This is very short sighted of this dealer. Do they understand the profit they are giving up in lost business. You are not a DIY who doesn't know what they are doing but are a shop with as good or better technicians than they have who knows what you are doing and would probably buy parts from them for another 30 years. Everyone has bad new parts even the dealers. This is dumb, dumb, dumb.
  4. Don't just love it how these guys tell you what is wrong before you have even looked at it because they read about such and such on the internet and it comes that their solution is a million miles from what is actually going on.
  5. There's a lot to digest about how the ACA works, and much is buried in a complex, convoluted maze of regulations and procedures. A few websites contain explanations, but very important details have either been left out or glossed over. These details are well worth understanding so you will know what's at stake for you and your family. This lesson is not meant to convey a political opinion. This is how the ACA works, and under this law there are no sacred cows. http://www.opednews.com/articles/2/Obamacare-A-Deception-by-Paul-Craig-Roberts-130205-213.html
  6. I agree and I welcome Patrickcn to the forum!
  7. Looks like I was wrong but not by much.
  8. It is too cold for one here so I will have to wait until after the Super Bowl to get mine. http://www.cseed.tv/design/movie.html
  9. Gonzo, I would not have been so easy. In Indiana if someone stops payment on a check you can take them court for 4X the face amount of the check plus court costs. I would have given that to my attorney firm that handles bad debts. It would cost me a whopping $92.00. They would pursue it and they would either settle or go to court. I don't think a judge would have a hard time figuring this one out. If I got a judgement I might not collect a dime from these shysters but with a judgement this firm would pursue garnishing wages, filing liens, whatever is available. I guarantee you the experience would makes these people think twice about using that tactic. It can get real expensive and at the least they lose a day of work and have to sweat through facing a judge and a lawyer. I am dealing with this situation with a customer who stop a credit card payment. I guarantee you they will think twice about doing it again before we are done. I have never lost one of these cases yet. One of the best things I have ever done is use this law firm. They cost me costs plus 1/3 of what is collected. What is suprises is that every few months I collect a debt that I figured we would never see.
  10. Gonzo, you should have someone record you actually demonstrating this and post it here and on Youtube. It is another way to get your name out.
  11. The same here!
  12. Looks like you are out of Canada.
  13. Joe, I am having more response than I was a year ago. I guess the unemployment is finally running out.

  16. Last week we installed a blower motor in a 07 Equinox. Monday the owner came in and told me that while his wife was driving it and making a hard turn she heard something break loose and ever since the new blower made a strange noise when turned on. Today we had it back in and opened it up to find a double handfull of pecans lying in the area near the blower motor. Somebody had a busy squirrel or mouse somewhere. I guess our changing the blower motor hadc allowed those to break loose from wherever they were stashed.

  19. Joe, I hope this turns out well for you because I know Carquest is you first call in parts. However, my experience is that when one of the discounters takes over an operation in about 3-4 years not much is left. O'reilly bought one of our vendors and nothing unique survived and all of the good counter people were gone.
  20. Yesterday we had our second go on a car with a swooshing like water flowing sound. We looked at it before and couldn't find it. This time I think we got it. It was a plastic bag with plastic caps like for test tubes lying in the seat and rubbing together.
  21. As you see, the key to these mechanics liens is to have the vehicle in your possession. However, it looks like a big headaqche in CO if their are liens. In Indiana if there are liens all I have to do is notify the lien holders by certified mail. If they want to keep the lien in force they have to pay the bill. If they don't the lien is wiped out. I have one right now that we put a transmission in and the woman never came to get it. I started this procedure but she called wanted to pay me when she got her taxes back. I decided to wait and see if that happens. If it doesn't I will go through the Indiana process.
  22. Reading through this procedure it looks like a Colorado is much harder to secure a title than Indiana is. I have pursued and acquired title to about 6 vehicles through the last 10 years.
  23. Jose, welcome to the forum. We are happy you joined. By the way I love Hondas and have owned 3 Preludes. Too bad they are not made anymore. Yes, we offer financing through GE? It is good to have as long as the costs aren't too high to the shop.
  24. Some companies aren't bad it just depends upon the company and the adjuster. However, it is hard to see how this problem is from the accident. What has no heat got to do with the head gasket or the accident?
