  1. This business was so tough that at one time we were trying to sell.
  2. Sounds like the guy I hired who had worked at Pep Boys. I let him go after 3 days. If he had worked a whole week I think I would have been out of business.
  3. Frog there are more important things than money. All I can say is good for you.
  4. That 5,000 lb trailer turned out to be a 11,700 lb loaded. LOL Fortunately, they found something that will work. Not what we would hav liked for them to have but we will keep our fngers crossed that it will hold up.
  5. I love it Gonzo as I think we have all experienced every thing you described. This week we did an alignment on an older Lexus an older gentleman had just acquired. He immediately came back with a "light that wasn't on" when he brought the vehicle in. Now I suspect one of two things were going on. Either they were on and he was trying to hang it on us or they were on and he had never noticed it until then. Either way this was the idiot light that Toyotas and Lexus have that tell you a light bulb is out. We pulled it in to check it and lo and behold there was a license plate light bulb out and a rear running light. However, these were both located within the rear hatch where you have to remove the rear hatch interior cover to access the bulbs. Obviously, we had nothing to do with the bulbs and where they were at he couldn't blame it on us. End of story.
  6. I love it. I had the same thing a few years back. An older woman came in and told us that her grandsons replaced the pads and now it was grinding. She wanted it fixed. They did the same thing and had installed the pads backwards except they installed both the inboard and the outboard backwards. How stupid can you be?
  7. I would consult with one of the major paint suppliers like Sherwin Williams, Porter Paint, etc. When we were considering doing it they were recommendin a urethane to me????? Said it would be better than an epoxy????? We never did it so I cannot say.
  8. I hope he sued the body shop because they would be much more likely to have liability than you would. This guy would be lucky to get as much in court as he was offered in my opinion. Some people think stupidly they will get more in court. I remember offering somethings to appease a disgruntled customer once but they insisted on going to court. When she went to court she got nothing. We have been in small claims court probably a half dozen times in my time in the business and we have never lost.

  10. Joe thus has been a tough year and I have had to deal with a lot of employee issues.
  11. I don't say much about what plays except when it gets too loud or too obnoxious. The worst is a loud radio when I take a customer into the shop to show them something on their car.
  12. Same to you Joe. I am loafing with the missus in Louisville: flea market, outlet mall, restaraunts, overnight trip.
  13. Hilarious! You can't fix stupid.
  14. If I had a shop in a town like Atlanta I would have a gun behind the counter and I would carry.
  15. First day!
  16. I received a marketing call from Mitchell1 this week. Here is what I told them. I don't not take calls from "Mitchell". They will have to be the last provider out there before I will use them. Sorry but I feel that strongly. If they had resolved a complain I had I would have probably be using both Mitchell and the shop management system. As it is I am using neither one and never intend to.
  17. Andre, let me make sure I have this straight. You are using two tests! One is a reading comprehension exam and the other is the Mastertech exam! Am I correct? Joe, does Elite offer any employee testing.
  18. Subject: My Weapon MY-O -MY HOW TRUE THIS IS MY WEAPON Interesting statistics...and humorous Today I swung my front door wide open and placed my Remington 30.06 right in the doorway. I left 6 cartridges beside it, then left it alone and went about my business. While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor boy across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign near the front of my house. After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was still sitting there, right where I had left it. It hadn't moved itself outside. It certainly hadn't killed anyone, even with the numerous opportunities it had presented to do so. In fact, it hadn't even loaded itself. Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the hype by the Left and the Media about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people. Either the media is wrong or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in the world. The United States is 3rd in murders throughout the World. But if you take out just 4 cities: Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC and New Orleans, the United States is 4th from the bottom, in the entire world, for murders. These 4 cities also have the toughest Gun Control Laws in the U.S. ALL 4 of these cities are controlled by Democrats. It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data, right? Well, I'm off to check on my spoons. I hear they're making people fat.
  19. I second that question and also ask that you fill us in on the testing your use.
  20. At an average RO of $65 they have to be doing a lot of wiper blades, air filters, light bulbs, etc. and have to be using the cheapest parts available.
  21. Ain't a typo it is on the building. http://myautoservicelv.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/my-auto-21-041111-620x370Sample1.jpg
  22. Omnique integrates with Epicor and does the same thing.
