  2. My cheapest source for 0W20 is the Honda dealer. It is only available as a synthethic in the aftermarket as far as I can tell. I can't pay $5.00 a quart and charge a standard oil change price.
  3. In March at our Car-x trade show I talked to the Walker exhaust people about some of the problems we have had with aftermarket Goerlich/Catco converters. This problem has been most confined to some GMs for us. Here is what he told me. He said that there are certain vehicles that all of the after market converter manufacturers have had problems with. This is because the computers in those cars had a finer tolerance and these after market converters would thus trigger a code. He told me that all of the manufacturers had addressed this problem by coming up with a new design beefer converter loaded with more of the precious stuff and that now they pretty much had this problem licked as long as you go with the new design converters.
  4. First let me say that it is good to have you on the forum. You have posted some good stuff today and I appreciate it. The point I wanted to make is that O'Reilly has their own Import multi-vehicle transmission fluid out. It is about $5.00 a quart and it says specificially on the bottle that it meets the Honda requirements.
  5. Now I understand where all of those colorful story and crazy people come from!
  6. Definitely a scam. When I was a federal employee (over 35 years ago) anybody who would take the government credit card could work on your vehicle.
  7. Be cautious on this stuff. I think there are some scams operating under the idea of helping securing GSA contracts.
  8. Thanks Gonzo! We have a Snap-on and use to have the Genysis. I guess we will look at a Master Tech.
  9. Gonzo, thanks for the info. If you were a shop with only one off the truck scanner. What scanners would you invest in and in what order?
  10. That is the kind of stuff that drives you carzy. We had a 1996 Chevy Blazer with a bunch of problems and we spent all kinds of time on it. Wish we had never saw that Blazer.
  11. WOW! Ray you have been extremely successful. We are happy to have you on the site.
  12. Belated wishes to everyone. It was a very good weeked. Church Sunday morning and the kids an grandkids at the house in the afternoon. The last thing I did was watch the old Jimmy Stewart Shenandoh with two of my granddaughters. They love westerns.
  13. I only got 8 out of 15 but sorry guys, I am not a beer drinker. When we meet someday I'll have a Coke: http://www.stltoday.com/news/multimedia/html_d5d59296-1e8f-11e0-a5d7-0017a4a78c22.html
  14. Joe, you have history all around you. Thanks for the reminder. Our founding fathers were brave self-sacrificing men.
  15. I think it is real. It is amazing.
  16. Gonzo, I like your style and guts! Joe, what you said is right on.
  17. Watch closely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Pq7WYe67kQ
  18. I think the Pro-Cut is the best on the car lathe. However, Joe I feel exactly like you do. Rotors are cheap and the Pro-Cut is expensive.
  19. Joe, that explains it! I do think that I remember seeing Gonzo's shops on the X-files. Thankfully I don't get very many of those weird repair jobs. The worse thing I had was a guy who towed his Suburban in because we did a fuel pump 4 1/2 years ago. We didn't warranty the pump but cut him a break and quoted it at like $430 on the replacement so he towed it back home. Now he has about $100 bucks in towing and still needs a fuel pump.
  20. Gonzo, you just get better and better.!
  21. Rotors are so cheap I don't see how one could invest in the cost of a Pro-cut. The most useful place for one is with captive rotors. It would be nice to have but I doubt we will ever buy one.
  22. Great story, Gonzo. One of your best.
