  1. When the marriage is going good, it will work. When the marriage is not going good, it won't work. My husband is the owner of our shop, and I am the office manager. It takes a very "special" marriage to be able to work together. It is especially difficult for most people to leave personal issues to home. Personally, I wouldn't have a married couple work for us. The other problem I see is, if they go on vacation, kids activities, serious illness, etc, you are out 2 people at the same time.
  2. mspecperformance, do you have an email?
  3. We have a Hunter Hawkeye Elite. Best investment we made. The tech lives 15 minutes away, and we have a great relationship with him. In the beginning if we had any questions, he was just a call away. Our reputation for alignments in this area is great, and it starts with the equipment and then our techs are able to give a great service. Because we are also a performance shop, we are able to do custom alignments on both road coarse cars and sports cars (the local Corvette club loves us).
  4. Must be Corvette owners. We had an 80's Vette in here to remove the old mufflers and replace with new from muffler to exhaust tip. Simple, all work done on a lift, under the car. Apparently, according to this Lumber Jack, gravity and welding works differently in our building. He claimed that we got welding slag on his windshield, his buddy that has been a welder for over 30 years told him it was welding slag burns on his windshield and we did it. The shop owner came up front and asked a couple questions.... 1. If you are welding under a car, how can welding slag get on the windshield? 2. If you are TIG welding, how can there be welding slag in the first place? (His buddy choked and walked out.) It still did not finish well, but we have heard thru the grapevine that he has been asked to not come back to a few other places. With some people you just can't win.
  5. One of the things around here is Fundraising Benefits for families that are going thru a tough time. They have had a house fire and lost everything or they are have a major medical issue, etc. That being said, as a business we get asked ALL the time for silent auction donations. We have designed a form for the requestor to fill out and have internally set up criteria as to who we will donate to. I am looking for ideas for something to give that will get bids to raise funds and will promote what we do as a business. We usually give alignment gift certificates, valued up to $80, our 4 wheel alignment is $79.99, and a t-shirt packaged together. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  6. Thank you. Never looked at it that way. We looked at greatest difference of contrast.
  7. We get the calls or drop ins that just want us to diagnose the problem so they can fix it. Or they ask us how to fix it so they can go home and do it themselves. REALLY? You want us to give our experience/knowledge away for free?
  8. Also check with local parts stores, their outside sales guys or the manager. Sometimes there are guys that are always doing work for other people.
  9. just joined the forum today. Figured I jump right in and share who we are. Our website: www.paradigmauto.com
