Alignment Lift, flush mounted or not?

All of the alignment lifts I have used before have always been mounted on the surface compared to flush mounted. If you were going to install a new lift today would you flush mount it or not?

 

What are the pros and cons?

Pros are its way faster to get a car on and off the lift. Also any vehicle no matter how low will be no problem. If you are performing a lot of alignments daily and you can save maybe a few minutes on each car. End of the day/week/month/year it adds up to a lot of time savings.

 

Cons are it costs more, there might be permits you need to pull to do it, if you don't own the space make sure you are allowed to modify the property. For instance I got quoted 5-6k for installation of a flush mount lift which included cutting the existing floor, excavating and pouring in a foundation for the lift. Did not include wiring it up.

If I owned the building it would be flush mount. I do a lot of lowered vehicles and it just takes time with a lift that isn't flush...

It is going in to new construction and my slab isn't poured yet so and I am not paying for it and the builder doesn't care one way or another.

If they use road salt where your place is I would think pretty hard before putting your rack in the floor.

You don't have issues with the techs stepping into the dug out area where the lift lays in the down position? I could imagine a lot of twisted ankles

I would definitely go flush mount, it's another way to differentiate your business and it attracts a more niche market in my experience.
