3rd party warranty and conflict of interest?

Recommended Posts

I have a 3rd party warranty on my personal car and was pondering the legality of my shop doing the repairs. I am an absentee owner and the repairs are legitimate. I read the entire policy and read no issues. I assume, seeing as it's a corporation and not a sole proprietor, it is a separate entity. Feel free to add opinions or facts.

I am a shop owner and I purchased a vehicle with a transferable GM Extended Warranty. Before the warranty expired we did about $2,000 in work on it through the warranty. To transfer the warranty only cost me $50. It was a sweet, sweet deal. The warranty company is always free to send out an adjuster to verify needed repairs.

X2. No legal concerns. They can verify that the repairs are needed and they price it, you won't be overcharging them so I see no issue.
