Wanted to see if anyone else is using Shopkey Pro SE and Quickbooks? Basically they want me to take the parts that are suggested in Shopkey and put them in to Quickbooks. I haven't found an easy way to do this other then just type everything else out in Quickbooks. The customer gets the printout from Quickbooks with the parts listing. Anyone else out there using Shopkey Prof SE and Quickbooks at the same time??? Thanks for your help.

Could very well be. Do you have any experience with this application and integrating with quickbooks?

Integrator is available now for Manager SE. I just upgraded a few weeks ago. I have used it for many years with 5.9. It imports all payments and invoices from manager and eliminates manual entry of them. I am not sure about the inventory functions as I don't have Manager Plus with inventory. I am not sure that I understand your post in reference to using both at the same time. I use Manager because it is designed specifically for automotive repair business with many features for that type of business. Mitchell does not do accounting that's where QuickBooks is needed. Customer invoices are printed from Manager. Any questions you have I'm sure I could answer for you.

Yes, you got the picture. Is there an ongoing cost to using the integrator application? If so, how much do you pay per month? This is great as I really appreciate the info from everyone! Oh, what version of Quickbooks are you using?

I am wondering if it will work with Quickbooks online. I don't have a standalone version because I have found that its much easier to be able to use the online version. Updates done constantly and I can access from anywhere. My CPA has the login as well and helps me with the check book reconciling every month.

My guess is the integrator piece would not work with QBOnline because QBO lives in the cloud and not on the PC. But I would need to confirm that with the company who makes the integration software.

Ok, so I did talk to their tech support and Quickbooks Online is not compatible with integrator. QB has to reside on the desktop. Again, thanks to everyone who responded!

      It always amazes me when I hear about a technician who quits one repair shop to go work at another shop for less money. I know you have heard of this too, and you’ve probably asked yourself, “Can this be true? And Why?” The answer rests within the culture of the company. More specifically, the boss, manager, or a toxic work environment literally pushed the technician out the door.
      While money and benefits tend to attract people to a company, it won’t keep them there. When a technician begins to look over the fence for greener grass, that is usually a sign that something is wrong within the workplace. It also means that his or her heart is probably already gone. If the issue is not resolved, no amount of money will keep that technician for the long term. The heart is always the first to leave. The last thing that leaves is the technician’s toolbox.
      Shop owners: Focus more on employee retention than acquisition. This is not to say that you should not be constantly recruiting. You should. What it does means is that once you hire someone, your job isn’t over, that’s when it begins. Get to know your technicians. Build strong relationships. Have frequent one-on-ones. Engage in meaningful conversation. Find what truly motivates your technicians. You may be surprised that while money is a motivator, it’s usually not the prime motivator.
      One last thing; the cost of technician turnover can be financially devastating. It also affects shop morale. Do all you can to create a workplace where technicians feel they are respected, recognized, and know that their work contributes to the overall success of the company. This will lead to improved morale and team spirit. Remember, when you see a technician’s toolbox rolling out of the bay on its way to another shop, the heart was most likely gone long before that.
