Well, boys and girls, today the fox is guarding the hen house.

 

Obama appointed two devout Muslims to homeland security posts.

 

Obama and Janet Napolitano appointed Arif Alikhan, a devout Muslim, as Assistant Secretary for Policy Development. DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano swore-in Kareem Shora, a devout Muslim, who was born in Damascus, Syria, as ADC National Executive Director as a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC).

 

NOTE: Has anyone ever heard a new government official being identified as a devout Catholic, a devout Jew or a devout Protestant...? Just wondering.

 

Devout Muslims being appointed to critical Homeland Security positions? Doesn't this make you feel safer already?? That should make our home land much safer, huh!?

Thats like saying all catholic priests are child molesters - and im sure they didn't get to their previous positions and keep them as long as they did if they were terrorists. Im glad your church teaches you not to judge lest ye be judged.

What am I saying that is like saying all catholic priests are child molesters? I am saying that I am not comfortable with Muslims in these positions. I think more than 50% of our citizens would agree with me.

 

What has church to do with being uncomfortable on a national security issue. If we were in any of the Muslim countries we would not find non-muslims appointed to key policy positions. I have Muslim friends so I do not think every Muslim is a terrorist but I do not think that Muslims should be in key position on national security since that is the biggest threat to our national security. It is certainly not a comforting thought to me.

 

What i am getting at is this - first , i am SURE anyone at that level of government has been investigated so deeply they wont be able to sit down for a week - and 2- the u.s. is a muslim country, and a catholic country and christian and Buddhist and any other religion you can think of - thats what makes it better than the "muslim countries" you mentioned. Just because they are muslim does'nt mean they dont deserve the same opportunities as everyone else. If as you said, you dont feel like all muslims are terrorists then there should be no issue that 2 of them were appointed to HS. I can see the prez's thought on this - if your gonna catch a muslim extreemist - you need to think like a muslim-

 

as for my "catholic priest" comment - it is toward not your outright words - but where you are leading the reader with your choice of words- i wonder - would you have any problem sending your kids to a small daycare for 8 hours a day that was run by a catholic priest? I did not see your post as a "security issue" i took it as a bigotry issue (i am white) which is not what church is supposed to teach people. If i look at it as a security issue... i can see your concern as a valid one - my apologies.

 

When it comes down to it - we are all business owners and leaders of our community - we serve all the people that walk into our stores and spend MONEY - i dont know about your part of the country but where i am, if one of my muslim customers saw me write something like that with my stores name and logo next to it, i would be out of business in a matter of months- we as business owners need to think about everything we do and say in a public forum - you never know who could be watching.just my 2 cents - did not mean to offend on my first post as a member...

      It always amazes me when I hear about a technician who quits one repair shop to go work at another shop for less money. I know you have heard of this too, and you’ve probably asked yourself, “Can this be true? And Why?” The answer rests within the culture of the company. More specifically, the boss, manager, or a toxic work environment literally pushed the technician out the door.
      While money and benefits tend to attract people to a company, it won’t keep them there. When a technician begins to look over the fence for greener grass, that is usually a sign that something is wrong within the workplace. It also means that his or her heart is probably already gone. If the issue is not resolved, no amount of money will keep that technician for the long term. The heart is always the first to leave. The last thing that leaves is the technician’s toolbox.
      Shop owners: Focus more on employee retention than acquisition. This is not to say that you should not be constantly recruiting. You should. What it does means is that once you hire someone, your job isn’t over, that’s when it begins. Get to know your technicians. Build strong relationships. Have frequent one-on-ones. Engage in meaningful conversation. Find what truly motivates your technicians. You may be surprised that while money is a motivator, it’s usually not the prime motivator.
      One last thing; the cost of technician turnover can be financially devastating. It also affects shop morale. Do all you can to create a workplace where technicians feel they are respected, recognized, and know that their work contributes to the overall success of the company. This will lead to improved morale and team spirit. Remember, when you see a technician’s toolbox rolling out of the bay on its way to another shop, the heart was most likely gone long before that.
