Happy Father's Day to you too and every ASO member who is a Dad! Unfortunately I will be visiting my father in the hospital tomorrow. He got some sort of infection, I just found out today. :( I believe he is ok, just being left in for a couple of days, for observation.

Sorry to hear that Alex, I hope all will be ok.

Thanks. He has an intestinal infection, but should be ok and hopefully out of the hospital in a few days. That coupled with his COPD and getting over pneumonia in the hospital 2 weeks or so ago...wasn't a great scenario. So we hung out today in the hospital along with my sister who came also. It was nice.

I had a great time with the wife and kids and my father-in-law. We went and saw Toy Story 3 in 3d with the kids. Great movie.

Well, I haven't really posted about my dad since this...but since then, he was diagnosed with esophogeal cancer. On Monday Nov. 1st, he went in for a serious surgery that lasted @ 12 hours. He started to recover through the week in ICU. This past wednesday afternoon, he had a stroke, followed by a second one on Thursday. Plus loss of blood flow to one leg, infections..etc...I have been in the hospital with my family every day. We have been praying and praying. Yesterday, it seemed he had some good responses, but every day now is a wait to see what happens. That infection he had in June, returned and caused blood clotting or something after the surgery. The good news is that they think the infection is subsiding. My father is a Vietnam Vet and we got to spend Veteran's day with him in the hospital, holding his hand and talking to him. He's 65 years old and too young to go.

Any extra prayers you have are appreciated.

Alex, both you and your father are in my prayers!

Thank you.

Alex, my prayers are with you, your father and your family. If there is anything you need, let me know. Having lost my mother to cancer when I was 13 years old, I know all too well what you are going through. I will contact you in the morning.

Thank you also.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Unfortunately, my father lost his battle and died this past Wednesday, December 1st. It was exactly one month since he went into the hospital for his operation that ended up causing unrecoverable complications. He was a Vietnam Veteran who just turned 66 on November 21st, while in the hospital. He was a very kind and thoughtful father, brother, husband, uncle, and friend to many. A hard worker who wasn't able to properly retire and a man who's one mission was always to work hard and provide for his family, which is the saddest part for me. I will miss him dearly. We had services for him this weekend which included a military honor guard. He is being laid to rest in a military cemetery this Wednesday.

Once again, I thank you for all the kind words and prayers during this difficult time.
