I saw in a different post, someone had a tow truck. I have 2 shops now and I get calls for tows once or twice a week. Should I get a tow truck? What type should I get?

I've seen a few rollbacks on craigslist for about $8000. Older but all I want to spend right now, especially this being my first one. I see a one that isn't a rollback but a wheel lift type. Would I regret it? seems like rollbacks are much safter and versatile. I know little to nothing about towing so any advice would be helpful

I have a local guy that has been wanting me to buy him out. I've seen all the numbers and at the end of the year it looks like somebody made a living, not a great living and you end up with a worn out Truck. I passed.

I have 7 tow trucks available. Brian has 4, Jimmy has 2, and Jerry has 1. 3 telephone #'s....7 trucks. Zero expense until I call one of them, but then it's Zero expense, also, because the customer pays for the tow and I mark it up and make money. Forget about buying a tow truck and concentrate on your ARO, GP %, profitability, customer retention and acquisition, and putting lots of money in the bank.

Wait until you see how much that unit costs you a month in insurance and repairs, not to mention the paperwork bs. Unless your state is lax or your hot shotting it owning a tow truck is too expensive to run it part time.
